Red Echinacea Daisy Inspired Dichroic Glass Drop Earrings with Sterling Silver 925 Ear Fittings
The piece was made by complex layering of many types and colours of glass (I use tweezers to do this) which were melted together in multiple kiln firings, each approximately 24 hours long. They have a lovely tactile feel as I have used a mixture of temperatures in the kiln so some layers of glass are part melted and raised from the base panel. Among the colours of glass used are tomato, crimson and deep red in a mixture of dichroic, transparent and opaque sheet glass. These are one-off earrings which can never be re-created due to the complexity of the making procedure.
The earrings are irregular rectangle shape with the total drop measuring approximately 38mm long (18mm glass) by 10mm wide. The earrings weigh 2 grams each and have been hand drilled and fitted with handcrafted sterling silver 925 ear wires and supplied in a presentation/gift box.
